Our State funding provides for minimal programming, primarily focused on safety and caregiving. However, The Opportunity Tree is committed to exceeding basic programming expectations and community interactions. Individuals with developmental disabilities often have trouble communicating in conventional ways. Forms of creative expression allow them to express feelings and empowers them with a way to display ideas and vision. Research suggests creative expression and community interaction increases stability, positive identity, and decreases negative behaviors. Your donations will assist us in exceeding basic programming and expectations! The Opportunity Tree is a Charitable Qualifying Organization
As an Arizona resident you are able to contribute up to $400 ($800 if filing jointly) and claim a credit against your state income taxes.
The Opportunity Tree is providing quality individualized services to people with physical and intellectual challenges 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Most individuals in our programs have been with us for 10 years or more. We have become their family. With your generous contributions we can continue to provide them with the quality community supports they depend on.
Three frequently asked questions:
1. Can I take the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit if I take the School Tax Credit?
YES! They are separate credits and you are allowed to take advantage of both!
2. Can I take the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit if I take the Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organization Tax Credit?
YES! They are separate credits with separate limitations!
3. Can I donate in increments?
Yes! Starting In January 2018 we will begin offering our Youth Transition Program at both facilities. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities that range from; the arts, cooking, music and movement and much, much more. These can be one time volunteer events, or a recurring scheduled time for you to come and work with us to empower, advocate and evolve with our members!
